“Now that’s what I’m talking about.”
Big Boi’s new record Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors features collaborations with alternative bands Phantogram and Little Dragon. The record is out now!
With confident disregard for music style boundaries, the Outkast founder shows his art background by creating surprising new combinations.
Other guests on Vicious Lies include Jai Paul, Big K.R.I.T., Wavves, Kelly Rowland (who does a version of the Little Dragon song), A$AP Rocky and Killer Mike.
Here’s a track from the new album that shows you how Big Boi sounds on his own. “Apple of My Eye” mixes pop, indie rock melodies, hip-hop and electronic sounds. With Big Boi’s Southern Mayor of the Literary delivery.
Phantogram is a keyboard-based electronic band from Saratoga Springs, New York. Their style lies somewhere between 80s new wave, psychedelic rock and current club.
Teaming up with Big Boi, the song is “Lines.”

Little Dragon is a Swedish electronic pop band fronted by the soulful vocalist Yukimi Nagano. Like Phantogram they rely heavily on effected keyboards.
Both the keys and voice from Little Dragon bring a lo-fi pop quality to this version of “Mama Told Me.”
