Soulful Swedish electronic pop band Little Dragon started out when two of the members, drummer Erik Bodin and bassist Fredrik Källgren Wallin, asked a younger high school student Yukimi Nagano to join the band. Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi was only 14 years old.

Håkan Wirenstrand, on keys, eventually completed the lineup.

Little Dragon’s first record in 2007 brought in elements of psychedelic music, electronic dance and pop.

In 2011, it was Yukimi’s understated vocals that took a giant leap in songwriting quality for their full-length Ritual Union.

The lyrics on the first release seemed disjointed, an afterthought…

But the fit of words, delivery and unique pop texture come together on Ritual Union, especially the title track.
